About the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre
The Casula Powerhouse was originally a power station which provided supplemental electricity during winter & shortages. Opened in 1951 it was shut down i 1976 and lay derelict until 1994 when it reopened as an arts centre. The powerhouse now has regular art exhibitions year round, a 326 seat theatre & artist residency spaces. The Powerhouse is 8kms from Best Western Casula in a car and takes 12 – 16 mins to travel to. If you want to stretch your legs and walk via the Bellbird Walking Track it’s 2.9kms and will take around 36 mins.
