About the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre
The Casula Powerhouse was originally a power station which provided supplemental electricity during winter & shortages. Opened in 1951 it was shut down in 1976 and lay derelict until 1994 when it reopened as an arts centre. The Powerhouse now has regular art exhibitions all year round, a 326 seat theatre & artist residency spaces. The Powerhouse is 8kms from Best Western Casula in a car and takes 12 – 16 mins to travel to. If you want to stretch your legs and walk via the Bellbird Walking Track it’s 2.9kms and will take around 36 mins.
